Yes, Rich certainly didn't have any problems, with any injury or with the Cats.

His play is making it tough for fantasy coaches, usually you trade out a first-year player who has made all their money and bring in a better fantasy player, but Rich can bring in the fantasy points and has shown he is a durable player.

Hello,

In my backline i have Josh Drummond on my bench. I did not play him this week because i could not get on supercoach.
I still scored 2325 :):)

Out of these players in my backline who should i take out for him:

1. Brendon Goddard
2. Cory Enright
3. Sam Gilbert
4. Greg Bourghton
5. Shannon Hurn
6. Luke Hodge
7. Jack Grimes

Also when will Steve Johnson, Hayden Skipworth and Matthew Pavlich be back? Do i need to trade any of them??

Thank you soooooo much!!

Sam Fisher is often a great fantasy defender to have, he gets plenty of points in Dream Team.

P Burgoyne is a risky pick, but he is at a low price.

You can afford Lockyer, he is a quality player. You can nearly afford Carrazzo.

Pavlich was close to playing against the Crows, so he is expected to play this round. S Johnson has been listed as a possible return for this round, although the Cats haven't said a lot about his injury. There has also been close to nothing said about Skipworth, which is probably good for his injury, it could be minor and he may play this round. Foley could miss a few more games, but see what Richmond say this week.

Don't send out Pavlich or Johnson. If you have money and trades to use, then consider upgrading Skipworth and Foley to better players.

Certainly a tough choice. Maybe Hurn. Watching Broughton and Grimes, they are very good at marking the ball when the opposition kicks it to their forwards, and that helps along their SuperCoach scores. Hurn is a great kick of the ball, but he often receives it from his teammates.

Hurn is someone with more AFL experience, so he will keep going for the rest of the season. Broughton and Grimes have not played an entire AFL season before, so there is a chance one of them slows down.

Hurn costs more, so if you trade him out, maybe for Hurley, that would free up more money to use for another trade.

Thanks,

Should be a perfect trade.

Pendlebury is now around $230,000 cheaper in SuperCoach than when he had his highest value this season. 3 games ago he had his 0 score, when he was hurt early in the game, so that has brought his price to a bargain level.

Foley is hurt, and he doesn't have the ability that Pendlebury has, so sending Foley out and bringing in Pendlebury should help your fantasy team a lot.

There might be a chance that Raines plays this week. He had a VFL reserves game, and maybe 3 VFL seniors games so he could be ready to play for Richmond.

With one trade, if you do that this week, just send out Adcock and spend all your money on his replacement.

In SuperCoach, Carrazzo could be a good buy. Mr Drummond can certainly get fantasy points, but is more injury-prone than other players.

If this is SuperCoach, then Hurn averages the same as Ryder and Harding, but his value is quite a bit more right now. So if you send out Hurn, you will free up more money, and maybe have the same stats produced.

SuperCoach is not very high in the rankings. There were injuries early on, so a steady approach to trading was used and now there is money to spend and trades to bring in more stars, to go for a round win.

The Dream Team rankings are a bit better, around 3,000 which is close to the top 1%. More trades have been used there, and there isn't a lot of extra money. There is also Adcock, but C Cornes was on the bench last round so he will cover that spot. One of the ruckmen is Cox, so something may have to be fixed there.

If only you had asked about the Fox Sports, around 200 overall there, and have been able to get top 25 for some of the rounds. But that isn't really great, due to the much fewer competitors in that game.

In the coming weeks, if an injury hits, you may need the trade then.

But if the rest of your team is good, with healthy players and some good emergency players on the bench, then add Franklin now.

Walker is someone who should be in the Adelaide team but they are getting by with Tippett and Porplyzia, and with Burton a chance to play maybe Walker is in the SANFL a bit more. So you may want to sit M Brown on your bench, and trade out Walker. But see who is named on teams on Thursday.

Pendlebury is a great bargain this week, and while Ablett does have a huge price he is worth it considering the stats he can get and also because he is the best fantasy captain too.

So a tough choice. Maybe if you get Pendlebury now, there is a chance that you can also get Ablett later in the season. If another of your starting midfielders is hurt, or playing badly, you will have some spare money to use and may be able to sell a bench player who has made money and can also bring in Ablett.

While it has been said before and didn't happen, there is the chance that Ablett does become a bit cheaper. His big fantasy score against Port Adelaide will still count towards his price when he plays one more game, but not after that. So if Geelong don't overuse him the next couple of weeks, he could lose some value.

If you will have a number of trades to use in August, and have someone in your starting midfield who isn't a great superstar that you can upgrade, then you may be able to get Pendlebury now and possibly Ablett later.

If you need to trade to make the finals, then trade away. Pendlebury is probably the way to go for your midfield, but L Anthony is in great form and keeps getting the ball. Using up your trades can be a problem if you don't have depth, so if you trade for Pendlebury and have L Anthony on your bench as the midfield emergency you will have depth there.

Like Pendlebury, Drummond was injured early in a game and that brought down his price. He is a bargain signing, if you could wait another week he may even be a bit cheaper then, but if you need to win now then getting Mr Drummond now is the thing to do.

So you would still have some money and 2 trades to use. You either use that two upgrade two players, or maybe you get more value by acquiring a cheap player for a bench player and then using all the extra money to bring in another big star.

Cats at home, against Melbourne, probably should pick them. Chapman was the Cats' best last round, Ablett is usually their best and the AFL's best for fantasy stats.

Swan is untaggable, but it won't be an easy game against the Hawks.

In SuperCoach, last time against Melbourne, Ablett had around 90 fantasy points and Chapman had over 150.

Looking at that, Chapman will captain the All Footy SuperCoach team this round.

Ablett is the best but coming back from injury, he could still be the top choice to be fantasy captain, but nothing wrong with Chapman, or Swan.

Foley or Dangerfield, send one out for Pendlebury and also start Anthony. Financially it may help to move out Foley now, and then to move out Dangerfield later.

If Anthony continues to star, you can trade out Dangerfield for a cheap bench player and money to use. If Anthony slows down in stats a bit, then Dangerfield could be traded for another starter.

Might as well go with Ablett as captain. Goddard is a good vice captain, J Brown and Selwood would be other good options this round.

If you send out Foley, then sit Dangerfield as Anthony could have an easier game and is getting better stats anyway.

J Selwood, against Melbourne, worth considering. A lot of your other options to be captain have tough games, Selwood could have an easy one.

J Brown against Tarrant and the Dockers. Without Sandilands and Pavlich, the Dockers are in trouble so Brown should have a good supply of the football sent to him. He doesn't play the Dockers very often, but has been in double-figures in marks against them in most of his recent games.

The Saints could score big again, but maybe Adelaide have a plan to slow them down. The Magpies and Hawks will be in a battle, that may hurt some of the stats, although if Franklin is back in form he could be a risk with a big reward.

The Cats may have lost two in a row, but they should again provide a lot of fantasy captains, and J Selwood could be a safe choice this round.

Assuming this is for SuperCoach, getting Pendlebury is the thing to do this week.

His price is so low compared to all the other fantasy players with high averages, and with P Burgoyne out this round and the Power in a bit of uncertainty about what they are doing it is a good trade.

A few more losses, and the Power nay start to look to the future, and maybe an older player like P Burgoyne isn't played a lot. Collingwood have plenty to play for, to get a top 4 spot, and Pendlebury will always put up a big fantasy score.

So Kerr would be traded out, and Pendlebury in? Bartel sits on your fantasy bench this week.

Rich plays in his home state, and was great last week, so play him. Anthony is against Richmond, one of those games when not a lot matters so there should be plenty of stats, and Anthony can get them. Starting Anthony should work again.

Davenport shouldn't have a tough game against the Eagles, but have him as your emergency this round. He is only a possible player at the moment, the final team will be known tomorrow but he should be there. Davenport has been very good for stats, but maybe Boak coming back will affect him.

It has to be a good move, getting the player who kicked over 100 goals last year at a very low price.

For the fantasy finals, Franklin finishes the regular season with games against Richmond and Essendon, so he should get stats when the fantasy semi-final and grand final is played.

Do you have someone on your bench who is playing for their AFL club this round, if you do then maybe start them and save that one trade for later.

If not, then get the best player you can afford. Another Lion, Drummond, is a bargain in SuperCoach right now, not that it matters about his price for your team but his stats are great. Carrazzo, Newman, Bock, all should be good options.

J Brown, against the Dockers, could be a great pick.

Or go with your Saints, who have been scoring high all season. Maybe Goddard, as the Crows could have Bock on Riewoldt and someone like S Stevens helping out too.

For something very different, Petrie could have a big game this round.

Grimes and Broughton have proven they can get stats, and even if their teams struggle it means the ball is down the end where they play.

So Hurley as the emergency this round.

Rich and Anthony could have easy games, so maybe start them. Beams could still be good for stats, but he plays against a much better team this round.

If you are looking to win your league, then waiting a few weeks before using your remaining trades is the best idea.

Also consider trading out Dawson, if he has a higher value than Sidebottom.

Rich, or even L Anthony, could be a good starter for the rest of the season, so if you decide to send out Kelly instead of Rich it should not hurt your team.

If you do add another star midfielder, then Swan instead of Montagna could be the better choice, as Collingwood have to play their best every week to make sure they finish int he top 4, while the Saints may rest a player or two, or more, per game during August.

If he is healthy now, then Fraser could be the ruckman to get.

The Swans don't have a lot to play for, and with another loss or two they will really look to nex year. So while Jolly could keep playing, they may rest him if he has a minor injury, or could decrease his minutes to give White and Pyke more time.

The Kangaroos don't have a lot to play for, but McIntosh and Petrie shoud still get plenty of stats too.

Pavlich has to be very close to playing, so you are probably correct that S Johnson is more unlikely to play this week, but wait and see if Geelong say anything. Nothing wrong with O'Keefe, but also look at N Riewoldt if you don't have him and L Davis, and Brent Harvey was good last round.

I am thinking of trading out Ziebell for Chapman or some other premium forward. But will Chapmans supercoach score slow down once S. Johnson comes back.
My forward line is:
Aaron Davey
Jonathan Brown
Lance Franklin
Shaun Higgins
Mark LeCras
John Anthony
Mitch Brown

Jack Ziebell
Brent Maccaffer.

Thanks

That should be a good trade, it will not only make your team better with a higher score but you will also get more depth. Ziebell won't help your team now, M Brown will be a solid emergency player to have if you move him to the bench, and Chapman will get a high fantasy score if S Johnson is there or if he isn't.

It seems that Chapman can get fantasy points if Geelong is at full strength or if they are missing several stars, and he can do it with kicks in the midfield or contested marks and goals up forward. S Johnson returning may just give other teams someone else to worry about, and they won't be looking to stop Chapman as much.

But also consider other superstar fantasy forwards.

Hello, This is for Supercoach

If your in the top four in your leauge does this mean you get a second chance?? or someothing else??

Like if you win your first finals match you go straight to the semi-finals, peliminary finals???

chicken_tomato said...
opppps! forgot to say...

THANK YOU! :)

When the finals are about to start, they should have the four week schedule on the league page and that will confirm the following:

Finish in the top 4, then in the first week of the finals if you win you get a week off and then play in week 3 for a chance to get to the league Grand Final. If you finish in the top 4 and lose in week 1 of the finals, you get another chance in week 2 and can still win the league. It should be just like the AFL finals.

So what you said for the fantasy finals, you are correct.

Why isn't skipworth playing. Is he injured?

He did miss a week with a knee problem, he may have been an emergency for Essendon last round and played in the VFL.

The Bombers have a very even side with a lot of players competing for the final spots in their side every week. He has been very good for the Bombers this season, so he must be a good chance to play this week.

The Cats say he is likely to play this round, so it might be time to believe them as Johnson has had plenty of time to rest and recover.

Thanks

N Riewoldt, L Davis, R O'Keefe, P Chapman, M Pavlich, B Harvey.

Riewoldt and Davis could be the best to choose from. Riewoldt is unstoppable, reaching up and marking everything, and outrunning all defenders too, he could be the best choice. He also has the games under the roof.

Davis, he can get possessions and goals, and is at a good fantasy price right now.

O'Keefe and Chapman are both at the top of their games right now. Nothing wrong with signing them.

S Johnson has an injury at the moment that isn't getting a lot of talk about what exactly it is, so he is a risk. Goodwin is old and has various knee problems, so not the safest pick. Pavlich is, probably, back after missing with an injury, and is at a good price, but his team is playing for draft picks and if they play Pavlich it won't help with that although they can keep Pavlich in the middle and even with 30 possessions and 15 marks Fremantle could win without any forwards to kick goals.

Deledio is an interesting player, who may not be doing enough compared to the expectations. He is someone who can be tagged out of games, while in others he can get goals and possessions. B Harvey is a bargain to consider, he is playing a lot better since returning from his elbow injury.

You listed Riewoldt first, and he is probably the one to get. But if you need money for your next trade, then there are other options to consider.

1) You do have stars Ablett, Riewoldt and Goddard but maybe you pick O'Keefe as captain this week. Worth considering O'Keefe, with his stats and because of who he plays.

2) Probably Ballantyne, he should be able to kick a couple of goals against the Eagles. Sidebottom should also be good.

3) You probably want to keep your trades until the fantasy finals. If you don't have any big injuries to fix, you may want to plan to use a trade to upgrade Dangerfield.

In the Geelong Advertiser newspaper, they say that the idea that Ablett was hurt was 100% wrong, so if he is your top choice as captain, do it again as you will have a vice captain there as well to cover any problem.

Swan could be just as good, and Chapman is playing well every week too.

Ablett has been over 30 possessions the last couple of games against Hawthorn, and had 40 possessions last round, so might as well go with him. Put Swan as your vice captain, that is probably the best combination to have.

S Johnson has been a problem for fantasy teams with his mystery hip problem. He could be back next week, although Geelong have been saying that for a while now.

You are upgrading your team by getting who is probably the best fantasy forward with Nick Riewoldt. So if you trade for Riewoldt, it will be a good move.

To save some money, also consider Leon Davis who is at a very good price, and Jonathan Brown is putting up some big scores too. Brent Harvey is also at a bargain price. But Riewoldt would be the best player to get, so if you are low on trades and looking to trade for one big superstar then go with Riewoldt.

Thanks,

Both have been bringing in good fantasy scores.

Anthony may have the ability to get a higher score, as Collingwood have plenty of players who can get the ball. The Kangaroos don't have a great midfield, and Anthony seems to always get to where the ball is.

Probably can't go wrong with either of them.

Maybe go with Riewoldt in. All three forwards you are thinking of getting should continue to play well, but Riewoldt is usually a better fantasy player than Davis or O'Keefe. Although Davis is at a good price right now.

Keeping M Brown may also help, as he could be playing more for the Eagles than Skipworth will for the Bombers.

Maybe Grimes and Cheney will be available to play next week.

The Eagles don't really say a lot about Dean Cox. They can't win a game if they want another high draft pick, and putting Dean Cox back in will help them win, so there is a big reason to keep him out of the side, plus it helps him recover to be at his best for next year. For the All Footy Dream Team, Cox was in the ruck with Jolly, and last week Petrie was brought in for Cox. For that team, it is trying to get into the top 1,000 overall so getting a healthy ruckman playing was important to that.

For Higgins, in SuperCoach, Brent Harvey is a bit cheaper than Higgins so that could be a good move. Aaron Davey has dropped in value, while Andrew Walker could be someone to try if he is playing next week and few other fantasy teams would have him.

All Footy said...

As long as Glass is playing, keep him in your team. Save your trades to replace injured players for the fantasy finals.

If you don't need to replace any injured players, then next month you can use one trade to get money, by sending out a bench player for maybe a very cheap rookie, and then use that money and your final trade to upgrade a spot in your starting lineup.

With few trades left, and M Brown playing for the Eagles, you can keep Higgins on your bench and play Brown, and hope that Higgins is back for most of the fantasy finals.

But if you did want to move out Higgins, then Brent Harvey could be good value.

Brent Harvey, he could be the best option. He has lost value but is on the way up again, the Kangaroos always look to give him the ball as they have few other veterans, missing time during the year should have refreshed him and he will finish the season off with some big games.

Franklin has also lost a lot of value, and now is the time to buy. If you think the rest of your fantasy team is better than those in your league, then if you get Franklin now it will cancel out a possible advantage the other teams have over you. Franklin is also a bit cheaper than your other options, so that could be important.

Goodwin is good, but his age and sore knees could be a worry. Aaron Davey is at a good price, but he hasn't done anything great for a month, although he did play teams like Geelong and Sydney recently.

Deledio, another to look at. He has an easy game this week, and had a good score last round.

With J Kelly saying he is out a few more weeks, getting Swan to replace him makes sense. Swan would have to be the best choice, although if you want another Cat then J Selwood is an option.

Fraser, probably 2 more weeks. Both your bench ruckmen could play this week, Spencer could be close to playing again for Melbourne.

C Cornes and the Power are a loss or two from being out of finals contention, N Riewoldt is on a team with top spot already won. Davis and Drummond are on teams fighting for a top 4 spot, so that is an advantge.

Drummond is at a good price, Davis too, probably the two to get.

Nothing has been said about Hocking, so that could be good news, while C Cornes seems a bit bruised and sore and shouldn't have any problems about playing next round.

It does seem that Johnson will be back for Geelong this week, and Walker is a good chance to play for Carlton. B Harvey would have to be the better choice, usually better for stats than the other options and he is a bit healthier than them too right now.

So you are in second spot, should win this week, and will be in the top 4. Next week, if you lose, you get another chance and play the next week in the finals. That is two weeks, and if Higgins is back after missing those games you still have your trade to use when needed.

If you get Harvey now, it helps to win this week and next week, and if Higgins is out longer than two weeks your team is a lot better with Harvey there. With Higgins, 3 weeks could become 4 or 5 if the Bulldogs are extra careful, so bringing in Harvey now stops any of that being a problem.

If the rest of your team is set and you have some depth with a midfielder and defender on your bench who could be playing, then making the trade to get Harvey is easier to do.

If you do wait, and then decide you need to bring in Franklin, that is a good Plan B to have available.

If you have someone on your bench who is playing, like Ballantyne or M Brown, then waiting before using your trade would be the best thing to do. But if you need to get Harvey to make sure you have a starter in every spot, then he should be a good choice.

Your starting midfield and ruckmen are very good. So those are the strongest parts of your team. Nothing wrong with your starting defenders, as long as they are all playing. Tarrant and your bench forwards are not the best.

As long as you will finish in the top 4, you should save the trade. Don't trade this week, and you don't need to trade next week unless a big injury happens. If you win the first week of finals, then save your final trade for round 21 or 22 of the AFL season.

You probably go with Ablett as captain every week. Maybe consider your other star players for when they play against the Demons, or have a home game against the Eagles or Dockers.

1) Ablett as captain makes sense, although Judd could be a good option too.

2) N Riewoldt in, Ziebell out, a good move. Maybe save your other trades for the fantasy finals. Unless you really need to win this week.

3) Get Grimes back in, you decide between Hurley or Wojcinski, one starts and the other is the emergency. Keep starting L Anthony, he is a fantasy star. M Brown probably starts for you, with Higgins out.

1) Pendlebury could be a good captain. Ablett is always great to have.

2) With Higgins out, unless you trade him, you will start both Ballantyne and Sidebottom. if you did choose, probably Sidebottom ahead of Ballantyne this round.

3) If you have money, you may want to turn Dangerfield into a star. If you do want to move out Higgins, then Pavlich is an option.

As you don't have someone on your bench, moving out Higgins is probably the right move. Goodwin could be good, but also look at others.

You also have Adcock still, and he is a lot of money sitting there, and Gilbert out this round. If you want to use your two final trades, then get the best forward you can for Higgins and then spend the rest of your money on the best defender and send out Adcock.

S Hill can start this week in the back line, and go back to the bench when Gilbert returns.

Should i trade Dean Cox for Darren Jolly or Aaron Sandilands and then trade Shaun Higgins for either Leon Davis, Alan Didak, Aaron Davey, Brent Harvey, Jason Akermanis or Kurt Tippet if i make them 2 trades i will have no more trades left or should i trade Jason Blake for Paddy Ryder and save that last trade

I finished 8 and i am facing 5 a team that is averaging 1963 and i average 2017 but in my last 5 games i have gotten 2164, 2055,2160,2262 and 2201 while he has gotten 1775,1988,2171,1969 and 1919 please help me

D. SWAN

M. PAVLICH
S. HIGGINS
R. NAHAS

I've got 2 trades left and an important first week of finals so I'm going to use my last two now. My best trade at this point is to drop Muston for Jay Van Berlo and then Nahas for Brown. Would you recommend this as the best option? Or is there a better trade you'd recommend?

The trading is a good plan, but Jolly and Sandilands could be a bit risky as they are at teams with nothing to play for now. A little injury, and they may be rested. So if you sign a ruckman from a club that is fighting for a top 4 or top 8 spot it could be better. Kreuzer, M Clark although he has a high price, Brogan, maybe Minson, I Maric was good last round, there are a variety of choices.

McIntosh and Petrie are on a team with only draft picks to play for, but they are healthy and getting fantasy stats, so if you don't have one of them they are another option.

Maybe you can keep Higgins, but also consider that the other team could be using two trades to improve. So maybe you also trade for the best forward you can get too. L Davis might be the best from your list.

With Rich, or Anthony, as your emergency midfielder you do have depth there and it seems like J van Berlo could play more than Muston will anyway.

Another option, that might get a bit more money, is Sidebottom out and someone like C Wilson in. But that could be riskier with Higgins out hurt. Wait and see if Sidebottom is named to play next round.

L Davis is another option for you, but J Brown should be great too. Davis, as he plays a lot in the middle, will be more consistent for stats while Brown could have several big games and then a quiet one. As it is Dream Team, Brown doesn't get extra fantasy points with his contested marks.

Nothing wrong with your plan there, but see who is named on Thursday. Other cheap players could appear.

L Davis is the pick here, but pick who you think is best, although all should perform well.

There have been a few recent games when teams have tagged Didak and limited his stats so that is a worry.

Brown is playing well right now, but there are times when he doesn't get a big supply of the football.

Davis has been great the past month. No reason why that won't continue.

You are in the top 4, so that does give you options. You can still win your league if you lose the first final, so replacing Higgins isn't as important as it would be for someone who has to win or go out of the league finals.

If you only have 1 trade left, then that could be useful to keep for a bit longer. If you have plenty of trades, then moving out Higgins now makes sense.

Petrie could be the most consistent option on your list. Franklin can produce the highest scores, and some low ones. Davey is getting tagged again.

Fevola and Burton could be risky picks, they actually play against each other in round 22 when the fantasy grand finals are on, but they can both get a lot of fantasy points when at their best.

J Brennan, another player to think about.

If you only have a trade or two left, maybe wait another week. If you are trading, maybe Petrie or Franklin.

Rich plays away, but it won't be a difficult game and he should have solid stats.

L Anthony plays against Melbourne, under the roof if needed, so he could be the better choice this round.

It would probably be good to have them both on your fantasy team.

Dean Cox doesn't need anything extra to be the top fantasy ruckman, but he may be helped by resting now and getting over his injuries and then having a long and planned preseason. A few years ago the Kangaroos started preseason early when they rested some players, maybe B Harvey and Shannon Grant, and they seemed to start the next year very well.

There could also be a bargain ruckman or two for next year. If R Warnock doesnt play this year, he could be cheaper next year. D Hille isn't expected to be ready for round 1 next year, but if he is then he could be a bargain too.

1) Probably stick with Ablett as your captain. J Brown could be a good choice too. Cross could have another big game, if you want to try someone different.

2) Ballantyne's suspension and Higgins' injury are not helpful right now. Sidebottom will need to keep his spot in the Collingwood side too. Pavlich in the midfield for the Dockers means a lot of stats, and he has a good price. You might consider Petrie, scoring well and at a bargain price, and he plays Melbourne.

3) If Sidebottom doesn't play, maybe you trade him and use up the rest of your money on the best player you can get. Or maybe you can spend the money to turn Dangerfield into a better player. Or it would be good if you could save the trade for when it is needed.

4) Starting Hartlett instead of Dangerfield might work.

1) Ablett and J Brown seem like the best choices. Selwood could be good too.

2) You have plenty of options. 0, 1 or 2 trades. 0 trades this week could help later in the finals. You should have someone starting in every spot, scored well last round and even if you do lose this game you are still in the fantasy finals with the double chance.

1 trade makes sense, as you have money to spend. You could get an extra star, maybe upgrade J Anthony or one of Dangerfield or Rich in the middle.

2 trades probably isn't too useful, especially if you want to win the league. You may need to make changes later in the fantasy finals.

The best plan would be to not trade, and if you win this week then you can trade in a couple of weeks and should also have Gilbert and Higgins back playing too.

It may be best, to take the week off and save your trades. Then see what happens next week, as you could get a bunch of players back then.

With the double chance, you can do that. Still try to win this week, pick a player as captain that the other team doesn't have.

Maybe you trade out Higgins and Sidebottom, and bring in two star forwards.

With so many other injured players this round, not a lot is being said about those two. They do seem to have minor problems, and maybe either of them could play next week.

If you do have a reason to trade one or the other, it could be that Hawthorn have more to play for than Melbourne. So the Hawks will want to get Ellis back playing as soon as possible, while Melbourne may want to give Grimes more rest.

Anthony is healthy, Higgins could miss a couple more weeks, you probably want to trade out Higgins.

Brent Harvey against Melbourne, he could be a good signing.

Maybe you send out Grimes and Sidebottom. Grimes could become Lockyer. To save money, maybe Embley, Gilbee or C Cornes could be brought into the team instead.

Krakouer is close to Sidebottom in price, Medhurst is cheaper. But you probably have the extra money to spend on a forward, and can get someone like Petrie, Aaron Davey or S Johnson. But spend a bit less on your defender, and you can afford to add someone like Pavlich, Franklin, B Harvey or Deledio.

But those are just some ideas. You have plenty of options, make sure you spend all the money and get two star players who hopefully stay healthy.

That does change things. That is a lot more money to use, if you need it.

Go over different trade ideas. You may want to keep Higgins, as you do have the extra money to spend and can get a quality player without sending Higgins out.

At least you know that Ballantyne will probably play the final 2 games of the season. Higgins, when healthy will play, but Sidebottom may not get back into the Collingwood side.

Davis - Team has plenty to play for, and he is playing well.
Pavlich - Great stats in the middle last round.
Goodwin - Old and sore knees, but big stats.
S Johnson - There is still some talk that he is injured, so a bit risky.
Boomer - An easy game this week, and has plenty of run left in him after missing games int he middle of the year.

Pavlich is always great, but the Dockers are playing for draft picks. Harvey could end the season with some big games, most of his games since coming back from injury have been very good for fantasy scores. L Davis is in a good situation as Collingwood play for a top 4 spot. Pick between those players.

S Johnson is playing this round. Davey is probably the healthier player, so maybe that gives him the edge. Both players should be good for stats.

The Bulldogs did talk about Higgins, saying he probably only misses one more game.

If Chapman isn't named this week either, then he is another player who could be traded out. But see what Geelong are doing.

If you do send out Higgins, Fevola is a good option. Brennan, Petrie, a couple of other players who may be more consistent, unlike Fevola who could have a huge score one week and be quiet the next.

Go with a Collingwood player. Davis or Pendlebury.

Might as well keep Anthony for another week. Collingwood could have a big win this round, so he should score plenty of fantasy points if he is among the goals.

You do have better players, and a bit more depth on the bench.

While Ablett is always the best pick as captain, going with a Saint under the roof is also a good idea, Judd against Melbourne is something else to consider. Even Sandilands is an option, against young Bellchambers.

Broughton and Hurley give you the edge in the back line. You would have a huge advantage if Higgins didn't play, but he is expected to be available. Rich and L Anthony are young but both are getting stats every game, they should do enough and with Ablett and Selwood your midfield should be as good or better than the other team. Your second ruckman should do a lot more than Gardiner. Pavlich and the Geelong forwards, if they play well this time, could mean the other team gets more fantasy points from their forwards.

If you are worried that J Anthony may have a quiet game, and maybe the conditions won't help, you could upgrade him. But wait until the teams are announced, as that trade could be important next week.

The Carlton players should score well against Melbourne, St Kilda players should have big scores against the Kangaroos.

The Saints also have an easy game in round 22. So maybe pick one of the Saints.

Probably Drummond, although maybe Newman if it is for Dream Team. In SuperCoach, Drummond gets a few more fantasy points by marking opposition kicks, probably. They both kick the ball very well.

Both should be good, and have big games in the final two games. Newman plays the Hawks and Eagles, Drummond the Power and Swans.

The Lions have something to play for, a top 4 spot, while Richmond don't.

Drummond would be the choice here.

Maybe go with the Saints. You decide which is captain and vice captain. Riewoldt has the potential for the biggest fantasy score, if he kicks well for goal, but Goddard could be a safer choice as he always gets high possessions.

But nothing wrong with Ablett, the best all season to have, and Judd does play against Melbourne.

Plan A seems to be replacing Franklin, so that last trade you have available could be very important.

Plan B, if they allow Franklin to play and they probably should, might be Rich to become the biggest star, so maybe Swan.

With who you are starting right now, you probably keep the same setup. Grimes, if Melbourne name him, you maybe keep him as the emergency. Or maybe Hurley sits, and Grimes starts. They can both be good for SuperCoach.

If Franklin plays, he could be the captain to have. Your Saints, Cats and Judd and Pendlebury are other options. Judd has to have a big game, but the Crows will send taggers after him.

1 Probably best to keep O'Keefe, he can bring in a huge score. Maybe one of your defenders goes out, Grima or Houlihan, or Nahas could be upgraded.

If the Eagles play well, and Richmond play poorly, then Nahas may not see much of the ball up forward and his big fantasy scores are when he kicks goals. Robert Murphy could be a good player to bring in for Nahas. A McPhee will have a big role in a very important game. Maybe J Roughead plays, you could trade for him.

Houlihan is inconsistent, and a game against Adelaide could mean he does less. You might be able to trade him out, and bring in Luke Hodge.

2 Mumford probably misses, so then the only choice will be J White. In SuperCoach, White just needs a few contested marks and a goal or two and he can put up a solid fantasy score. It could be easier for him with D Merrett out.

3 Ablett and Goddard have high fantasy stats, but in this round they don't have anything to play for. Maybe the games are so easy they have 40 possessions despite having a rest in the last quarter, but maybe they don't. Your Carlton onballers have much more to play for, so Judd or Gibbs could be a great captain this round.

Pavlich is often great, but he does go to Geelong this week, although if he plays in the midfield he could still have a big score compared to waiting in the forward line for the ball to arrive. The Dockers only have draft picks to play for and a holiday that starts next week, so they may not give Pavlich a huge amount of minutes.

Harvey's team doesn't have a lot to play for, and they also have an away game. He could also have K Cornes after him.

Brennan's team has more to play for this week, the chance to get a home final. Brennan will play all over the ground, as they need help in the ruck and also another tall up forward at times as Bradshaw won't be there.

Giansiracusa hasn't had a lot of football in recent weeks, so he won't be at his best yet. He does play a team that will allow plenty of run so stats could be high for many players in the game.

Brennan is the choice here, usually Pavlich would be but Brennan is in a game that matters to his club. Harvey might be the second choice, and Pavlich and Giansiracusa could also score well.

Should I take a big risk on selecting Chapman and Fevola for week one fo the finals? What do you think about my squad? Any improvements to make?

Cheers
Victors Superstars (Team Name)

Fevola probably isn't a big risk, maybe Merrett is back for the Lions but Drummond could be out. Drummond knows how to stop the supply to a full forward as a loose defender. Fevola has also kicked a lot of goals against Brisbane this season.

With Chapman, who is expected to play, it is about how often his hamstring will go snap, crackle and pop. Even if it is 1 in 10 games, that is fine with Finals Dream Team as there is a 90% chance he has a great game. If it was the regular season fantasy games, then you get him for the entire season, but in Finals Dream Team you acquire him on a weekly basis.

Hi,

Who is a good ruckman to pick for Finals Dream Team Week 3? Also what is a good team to pick for this week?

Thanks

To pick a good team, maybe first pick the stars who are always good for stats from all the teams still playing. Then fill in the remaining midfielder and forward spots with players from the teams you think will win. Finish up the team by selecting the defenders to fill the last few spots there.

For the ruck, maybe do that last and see what teams you still have spots for players, as there is only a certain amount of players from each team every week.

If you end up with only Collingwood and the Bulldogs to choose from, then Wood could be useful while Hudson may be the better choice from the Bulldogs. Ottens and Koschitzke are the best from the Cats and Saints, while Jason Blake is also a good choice as he can be used as a fantasy ruckman at the moment.

Hayes, Riewoldt, Chapman, Ablett. Goddard or Enright.

Those could be the popular picks.

Bartel, Corey, Selwood, S Fisher, Dal Santo, Montagna, S Johnson. Other quality options.

Hayes is probably the safe pick, in any weather and if the other team plays close to him, could have 30 possessions and 10 tackles.

Ablett will be the captain for many, and he nearly always is the best choice. But C Jones and the Saints will be tagging him.

Chapman can star in a Grand Final, with marks, kicks and goals.

Riewoldt will keep ourunning everyone to get marks, and if he can kick well for goal he could have one of the higher fantasy scores.

As AFL Finals Dream Team is for totals, then someone like Goddard or Enright who can get a lot of easy disposals in the back line can quickly put up a big fantasy score.

For the All Footy AFL Finals Dream Team, the captains so far have been Ablett, Boyd and Hayes. All have produced. Chapman is the pick right now, for the Grand Final, but that could change.
